Qualifications:
Must be a time served engineer (HNC), strong numerical skills, and experience in quality systems.
Hours:
37 hours per week basic, 3 shift rotation times.
Salary:
The predicted salary is between £30,700 and £39,000 per year.
Salary breakdown:
£30,731.94 + shift prem £7,682.99 annual salary £38,414.93
After successful probationary period:
£31,366.65 + shift prem £7,841.66 annual salary £39,208.31
Shifts:
Monday - Thursday
- Early Shift: 6am to 2pm
- Back Shift: 2pm to 10pm
- Night Shift: 10pm to 6am
20 minutes unpaid meal break (to be taken at a time to suit the Company)
Friday
- Early Shift: 6am to 12:20pm
- Back Shift: 12:20pm to 6:40pm
- Night Shift: 6:40pm to 1am
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with identification, development, and implementation of operational improvements.
- Ensure continuity of production of quality parts to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Improve quality, cost, and delivery continually.
- Meet customer expectations on delivery and quality.
- Be flexible for movement between work areas, overtime, and shift changes to support the site.
- Perform numerical computations involving decimals and fractions.
- Inspect templates, final dies, and part-finished dies.
- Inspect machining operations on various machines.
- Carry out hot forge inspection of forged components and dies.
- Carry out black forge inspection of machined and pre-machined aircraft parts.
- Set up jigs and fixtures for machine shop operations.
- Rotate within inspection department as required.

- Template checking
Health, Safety & Housekeeping:
- Conduct housekeeping audits.
- Use appropriate PPE.
- Participate in risk assessments.
- Undertake weekly inspections.
- Monitor safe systems of work.
- Comply with legislative requirements.
- Perform daily forklift and crane checks.
- Seek continuous improvement in working processes.
- Work according to established methods, report deviations, and correct them.
- Apply fault finding and problem-solving skills.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Meet performance measures.
- Support effective communication.
- Identify training needs and assist in training others.
- Undertake additional training as needed.
- Perform other roles within skill capability as required.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Time served engineer (HNC).
- High numerical ability.
- Knowledge of safe working practices.
- Experience with quality systems and procedures.
- Teamwork experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use precision measuring instruments is desirable.
