Job summary

The Devonshire Group invites applications for a Forestry Worker to join the Bolton Abbey Estate forestry team in Skipton. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to commercial forestry operations and woodland conservation on one of the UK's iconic estates.

You will undertake planting, fencing, walling, bracken control, and multiple chainsaw tasks, with duties including equipment maintenance, tractor driving, and supporting estate activities. Safety and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a range of forestry maintenance activities including planting, fencing, walling, bracken control, and spraying
• Undertake chainsaw operations including cross-cutting, felling, thinning, and clearing windblown timber
• Assist with tree surgery work, including climbing, chainsaw work, and chipping operations
• Maintain forestry vehicles, machinery, and equipment to a high standard
• Work independently and as part of a wider forestry team
• Collaborate with colleagues across other estate departments
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with health and safety requirements
• Deliver excellent standards of work while acting as a positive ambassador for the estate
