Job summary

Colourbox Montessori Nursery & Forest School in Newmarket is looking for an outdoor teacher or Level 3 Forest School Leader. The role can be full-time or part-time, with development opportunities and a focus on learning outside the classroom.

Responsibilities include planning forest school sessions, maintaining a safe outdoor space, and building positive relationships with children, families and staff. Uniform and all-weather gear are provided.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3+ childcare qualification.
• Enhanced DBS check required; safeguarding knowledge essential.
• First aid and food hygiene training desirable; training provided.
• Knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding principles.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and run forest school sessions that promote outdoor learning.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming forest school area with risk management in place.
• Build strong relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
• Uniform provided; support with all-weather gear and logistics.
• Opportunity for a 4-day week with compressed hours where possible.
• Participate in in-house Montessori, Forest School and CPD training.
• Contribute to pension scheme and social events organised by the nursery.
• Engage in continual professional development and learning outdoors.
