Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Forest School Lead for a secondary SEND school in Stoke. You will plan, teach and assess Forest School activities, delivering sessions to small groups and 1:1 learning under the Outdoor Education Head and Deputy Headteacher.

A Level 3 Forest School Leader, current First Aid (outdoor) qualification, and a passion for hands-on outdoor education are essential. The role starts in September on a fixed-term basis, with competitive pay and ongoing CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in educational or outdoor learning settings.
• Ability to plan and deliver Forest School sessions.
• First Aid knowledge for outdoor settings is preferred.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary SEND school in Stoke who are looking to appoint a Forest School Lead. The setting is looking for a passionate and engaging individual who can empower learners through practical education and create positive outdoor learning experiences.

The school is looking to take on a Forest School Lead on a fixed-term basis from September. The successful Forest School Lead will take overall responsibility for the planning, teaching and assessment of Forest School, working with small groups and delivering 1:1 learning under the direction of the Outdoor Education Head and Deputy Headteacher.

The successful Forest School Lead will have:

• Forest School Leader qualification (Level 3)
• Proven experience of working with children in an educational or outdoor learning setting
• First Aid qualification, including outdoor/emergency first aid, or willingness to obtain
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in outdoor environments
• A passion for empowering learners through practical education
• Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate outdoor learning experiences
