A leading educational institution is seeking a Forest School Instructor to plan and deliver engaging outdoor sessions for students aged 8-16 with SEMH needs. Hours: Monday to Friday, 32.5 hours per week (term time)

Pay:Actual salary £24,000 – £27,220 per annum
About the School:
This is a small special school supporting young people aged 8-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). The school prides itself on encouraging pupils to strive to achieve the best possible outcomes.
The Role:
We are seeking a skilled Forest School Instructor/Tutor to join the team on a permanent basis from September 2025. This part-time role (32.5 hours per week) involves planning, preparing, and delivering Forest School sessions, including accompanying trips and excursions, some of which may occur on weekends or overnight.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver a range of Forest School sessions and activities
Maintain and monitor Forest School equipment and education stores
Keep accurate records of equipment usage and repairs
Prepare lesson plans and required equipment in advance
Use behaviour management strategies to foster a positive learning environment
Promote outdoor learning and the ethos of Forest Schools
Requirements:
Experience in planning, preparing, and delivering Forest School sessions or similar outdoor learning programs
Ability to assess pupil needs and adapt activities accordingly
Knowledge of The National Curriculum and relevant Schemes of Work
Experience writing risk assessments
Passion for working outdoors in all weather conditions while ensuring children’s safety

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
