Job summary

The Outdoors School in Crediton, part of The Outdoors Group Ltd, is seeking a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support learners with SEMH and ASD in an outdoor woodland setting. You will work under the Lead Tutor, provide safeguarding, assist with behaviour management, support delivery of outdoor learning projects, and contribute to the school ethos.

DBS and references are required. The role is term-time, 40 weeks per year, with locations including Crediton, Shillingford, South Brent or

Qualifications

• Knowledge of autism and PDA profiles
• Knowledge of literacy and/or numeracy intervention package
• Creativity and versatility to engage learners
• Reflective and responsive to learners’ needs
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Safeguard and promote the welfare of children
• Provide behaviour management support for learners displaying challenging behavior
• Support learning and outdoor skills development under the Lead Tutor
• Deliver projects that extend pupils’ learning in line with the curriculum and ethos
• Collaborate with staff and specialists to engage learners creatively
• Be a team player and contribute to the school ethos
• Engage in CPD opportunities and reflective practice for professional growth
• Ensure learners experience a supportive and positive staff team at all times
