Our Water Quality and Environment team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Forest Ranger. To be considered for this role you have to live in the West Midlands area.
In your new role, you’ll be directly responsible for our 74 Tiny Forests and growing number of Commonwealth Games Legacy Forest sites. You will also work on existing woodland sites as required. You will work with our existing Forest Ranger to help the team grow and shape Severn Trent Waters’ new and existing woodland sites. You will be responsible for general forest management, contract supervision support and carrying out a range of key surveys including re-stock and deer impact assessments; stocking density assessments; dangerous tree surveys; post-planting site checks; and minor maintenance works.
You will agree works plans, liaise with partners and contractors, and make sure that project goals and annual targets are met. Your role will involve managing contracts to deliver our legacy forest commitments whilst adhering to all relevant guidance and legislation.
The role will require you to travel regularly to woodland sites throughout the Severn Trent region. Your primary work area will be throughout the West Midlands with a focus on the area between Shrewsbury, Coventry and Worcester. Please consider this carefully when applying for the role.
