Job summary

Serco is looking for a Forensic Psychologist to join HMP Ashfield, a Category C establishment near Bristol, delivering high-quality psychological services to prisoners and contributing to rehabilitation strategies.

The role involves using diverse therapies (including EMDR/schemas) and supporting staff through assessments, reports, and program delivery to reduce re-offending and aid reintegration.

Qualifications

• Experience working with offenders and conducting psychological assessments and interventions.
• HCPC registration (or within six months of obtaining it).
• Completion of Stage 1 of the Qualification in Forensic Psychology and most of Stage 2 (or equivalent Doctorate route).
• Knowledge of psychological theory related to violent and sexual offending.

Responsibilities

• Complete psychological assessments including HCR-20, SARA, WAIS, IPDE and PCL-R.
• Complete parole reports and directions.
• Manage and supervise Forensic Psychologists in Training and programmes staff, and provide training.
• Conduct research and consult with other prison staff.
• Decide suitability of candidates for accredited interventions.
• Ensure adherence to the BPS Code of Conduct.
