Job summary

South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking a substantive Consultant for the Forensic Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (FIND) Community Team in London. This is a less-than-full-time role comprising 5 Programmed Activities, with an additional 1PA offered for the AAIST.

The post involves medical leadership, day‑to‑day clinical care, risk management, and close working with social care and other partners to deliver recovery‑focused care in the community.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Primary Medical degree and be GMC registered.
• Specialist Register in Forensic or Learning Disability Psychiatry is required.

Responsibilities

• Medical leadership within the FIND Community Team, providing cross‑cover to other Consultant Forensic Psychiatrists.
• Overall responsibility for day‑to‑day clinical care, risk assessment, risk management, and recovery‑focused care.
• Multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working with social care, statutory and voluntary partners.
• Ensuring delivery of effective, safe mental health care and engagement in gatekeeping referrals.
• Referencing the JDPS for detailed information.
