Job summary

Priory Hospital Ayr Clinic/ Low Secure Forensic Ward in Ayr is recruiting a Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse to join our compassionate MDT. You will deliver personalised nursing care in a low secure setting within a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants must hold active NMC registration and have at least 12 months post-qualification experience, with CPD ongoing. Shifts are rotational (days/nights) on a two-week cycle, full-time 37.5 hours.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse with active NMC registration.
• Minimum of 12 months post-registration experience in mental health care.
• Good understanding of NMC guidelines, requirements and professional standards.
• Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive attitude with a commitment to change, improvement and delivering high-quality care.
• Ability to work flexibly and use innovative approaches to care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care safely and effectively within the MDT.
• Maintain a safe, supportive care environment and professional accountability.
• Respond effectively to changing environments using nursing knowledge.
• Work within the scope of professional practice and uphold high standards of care.
• Rotational shifts on the low secure forensic ward (two-week cycle).
