Job summary

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) Enforcement Division is seeking a Forensic Accountant Level 3 to support investigations into breaches by accountants, accountancy firms and actuaries. The role involves working with limited supervision on small to medium cases, identifying evidence, and contributing to complex investigations under the guidance of senior forensic accountants.

The successful candidate will develop expertise with increasing responsibility, and work within a hybrid Birmingham

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with experience and expertise in forensic investigation (2–5 years of directly relevant experience).
• Expertise in conducting complex financial investigations involving high volumes of material and complex data.
• Experience in identifying sources of evidence and determining the approach to review of material, including electronic review platforms.
• Experience in planning and conducting technical interviews of senior individuals.
• Understanding regulatory disciplinary processes and audit.

Responsibilities

• Assist in investigations with limited supervision and support more experienced forensic accountants on smaller cases.
• Identify sources of evidence and request documentation to support investigations.
• Analyze material using forensic approaches and electronic review platforms.
• Conduct or support technical interviews of senior individuals under supervision.
• Draft objective reports of investigation findings for guidance and further action.
• Meet deadlines and liaise with regulators and external counsel.
