Job summary

MCS Group is assisting a leading UK business advisory firm to recruit a Forensic Accountant at Manager/Senior Manager level in Belfast. The role is hybrid, blending office presence with remote work as needed to manage a growing personal injury portfolio.

You will work closely with partners, clients and solicitors, reviewing trainee work, and driving timely delivery of forensic reports and financial analyses for legal proceedings.

Qualifications

• ACA qualification preferred, but ATI or QBE considered with strong forensic experience.
• Experience in forensic accounting, ideally with personal injury claims.
• Manager or Senior Manager level capable of portfolio ownership.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of forensic accounting cases, mainly personal injury losses.
• Prepare and review reports for legal proceedings and deadlines.
• Collaborate with Partners, clients and solicitors, while mentoring trainees.
• Take ownership of day-to-day workload and grow Belfast personal injury work.
• Work with the wider UK team to develop the Belfast offering.

The Role

You will have a wide range of duties, such as;

• Manage a portfolio of forensic accounting cases, mainly focused on personal injury claims, analysing financial information and calculating losses.
• Prepare and review reports for legal proceedings, keeping on top of deadlines and multiple cases.
• Work closely with Partners, clients and solicitors, while reviewing trainee work and providing guidance.
• Take ownership of the day to day workload and help manage the growing volume of personal injury work across Northern Ireland.
• Work with the wider UK team, with the opportunity to help grow the Belfast team and develop the personal injury offering.

The Person

The ideal candidate will be:

• ACA qualified preferred, but open to ATI or QBE candidates with strong experience
• Experience in forensic accounting, ideally with personal injury claims.
• Manager or Senior Manager level, able to manage a portfolio independently.
• Strong organisational skills and able to manage competing deadlines.
• Experience reviewing work and supporting or developing junior team members.
• Good communication skills, comfortable dealing with clients, solicitors and senior colleagues.
• Flexible and able to handle a growing workload as the portfolio expands.
