Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Foreperson to lead on-site safety and supervise site operatives at Wisley STW, Surrey. The role involves daily safety briefings, coordinating tasks and ensuring high standards of workmanship across civils works.

Strong CSCS Supervisor credentials and SSSTS/SMSTS are required, with a 45-hour week and flexible hours. The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 1/2 and demonstrable experience in groundworks, RC structures and piping.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and running a construction site.
• Demonstrable knowledge of health and safety on civil works sites.
• CSCS card as Supervisor or higher and SSSTS/SMSTS certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety on site including inductions, toolbox talks, daily briefings and risk assessments.
• Supervise site operatives and allocate duties to ensure safe, efficient work.
• Implement safety plans, risk assessments and method statements with full compliance.
• Maintain daily records of site activities and plant reports.
• Identify and resolve hazards and ensure PPE and equipment use.

Job description

Location: Wisley STW, Surrey Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us. We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role. As a Foreperson, you'll play a vital role in managing safety on site and ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standards. You'll be supervising site operatives, coordinating daily activities, and making sure everyone works safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role where your leadership and practical expertise will make a real difference every day.

What will you be responsible for?

• Managing safety on site, including delivering inductions, Toolbox Talks, Daily Task Briefings and Point of Work assessments
• Supervising site operatives and allocating duties to ensure tasks are completed safely and within skill levels
• Implementing work safety plans, method statements and risk assessments, ensuring full compliance
• Maintaining daily records of site activities and monitoring plant reports and attendance
• Identifying and resolving hazards, ensuring all operatives wear appropriate PPE and use equipment safely

What are we looking for?

• You have demonstrable knowledge and practical application of setting up and running a construction site
• You hold an NVQ Level 1/2 qualification
• You have a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card - Supervisor - Gold, Experienced Supervisor or Manager
• You hold SSSTS or SMSTS certification
• You have experience with civils works including groundworks, RC structures, and pipelaying
