Operator Foreman – Carlisle
Site & Depot Based
£42,000- £47,000 + Benefits

Are you an experienced Foreman or Supervisor with a background in heavy plant, construction, or major projects? NEOS Engineering are working with a leading plant hire and services business that supports some of the UK's biggest infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and safety-focused professional to step into a leadership role, supervising operators across large-scale projects while supporting depot operations and customer delivery.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate operators across major projects, ensuring smooth execution and high performance.
• Manage depot responsibilities including receiving goods, overseeing plant, and ordering parts.
• Report plant damage and coordinate with mobile fitters for timely repairs.
• Provide hands-on support on-site, covering operators where required to maintain service levels.
• Lead operator meetings and support training sessions (Safety Stand Down, Eco Driver, PPE, IFE, Thumbs Up).
• Promote and enforce a 5-star PPE safety culture across all operators.
• Engage with customers on-site to maximise opportunities and build strong working relationships.
• Support recruitment: interviewing, inducting, and assessing new operators.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and coaching to maintain high operator standards.
• Attend quarterly meetings with other foremen to align with business values and long-term goals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Foreman, Supervisor, or Senior Operator within the plant, construction, or heavy equipment sector.
• Strong knowledge of construction plant and operational processes.
• A focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Valid CPCS Tickets, PTS Medical and SCM (or equivalent).
• At least 10 years' experience in the plant sector.
