Job summary

Primark seeks a Forecast Analyst to support the Phase 1 SRO project, owning forecasting across pilot stores and depots. You will challenge system forecasts, work with Data Science, Product and vendor teams, and help shape future forecasting processes while developing expertise as an early SRO superuser.

This hybrid role offers 2-3 days in the office, 27 days leave plus holidays, and access to Tax Saver Tickets, a fitness centre and subsidised cafeteria as part of Primark's flexible benefits.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in forecasting, merchandising, planning, allocation, supply chain or commercial analysis within a retail environment.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex data, identify trends and translate insights into actions.
  • Strong understanding of customer demand, forecasting, stock management and trading performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end forecasting across products, stores and workflows for the SRO pilot.
  • Analyse and challenge forecast outputs, identify risks and exceptions with commercial judgement.
  • Investigate forecasting issues with cross-functional partners to drive solutions.
  • Collaborate with Buying & Merchandising, Retail, Planning & Space and Supply Chain to align forecasts with priorities.
  • Shape and validate future forecasting solutions through sessions, testing and governance.
  • Become an SRO forecasting superuser, building system expertise and supporting training and rollout.
  • Communicate insights clearly to business and technical teams.

Job description

Our technology team is actively seeking a Forecast Analyst to support the Phase 1 Smart Retail Ordering (SRO) project, helping transform forecasting, replenishment and stock decisions across depots and stores. Acting as a forecasting subject matter expert, the role will own forecasting activity across the pilot, using analytical and commercial judgement to interpret and challenge system-generated forecasts. Working closely with business teams, Data Science, Product and the solution vendor, the analyst will help shape future forecasting processes and decision-making while developing expertise as an early SRO superuser.   • Own end-to-end forecasting across products, stores and workflows, ensuring effective delivery throughout the SRO pilot.
  • Analyse and challenge forecast outputs, identifying unusual patterns, risks and exceptions while applying strong trading and commercial judgement.
  • Investigate and resolve forecasting issues, partnering with Data Science, Data Governance, Product and vendor teams to identify root causes and drive solutions.
  • Collaborate across the business, working with Buying & Merchandising, Retail, Planning & Space and Supply Chain to ensure forecasts support commercial and operational priorities.
  • Shape and validate the future forecasting solution through design sessions, testing and process validation, helping define scalable workflows, governance, decision rights and escalation routes.
  • Become an SRO forecasting superuser, building deep system expertise, capturing pilot insights and supporting training, user readiness, adoption and future rollout phases.
    Proven experience in forecasting, merchandising, planning, allocation, supply chain or commercial analysis within a retail environment.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex data, identify key trends and translate insights into clear commercial actions.
  • Strong understanding of customer demand, forecasting, stock management and trading performance.
  • Able to investigate performance issues, identify root causes and confidently challenge system outputs using data and commercial insight.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
  • Comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and making sound decisions, with forecasting systems, retail transformation or technology implementation experience being an advantage.
