Description

The post holder will deliver quality coaching, management, and organisation to the University of Huddersfield Football Men’s 1st Team. This team competes in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS). The role will primarily focus on coaching the 1st team, mentoring student coaches, overseeing the club trial process, and collaborating with other club coaches. The team trains once a week at HRUFC Lockwood Park and competes across the Northern region on Wednesdays in BUCS.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Deliver an effective coaching programme to improve team performance and player experience.
  • Plan and execute pre-season training in September and post mid-season break in January.
  • Lead the 1st team with input from assistant coaches and team captains, ensuring transparent squad selection and development pathways.
  • Assist in recruiting students for coaching opportunities within the club.
  • Mentor student coaches and support members pursuing coaching qualifications or pathways.
  • Provide regular reports on team and club performance to the Students’ Union.
  • Collaborate with ActiveHud, the Students’ Union, and committee members to develop football at the university.
  • Ensure all sessions adhere to Health and Safety standards and promote equal opportunities.
