The W Academy is seeking passionate, dedicated, and skilled Sessional Football Coaches to support our weekend teams, with opportunities for additional midweek coaching as the academy continues to grow.

The role requires strong game knowledge, excellent communication, and a commitment to a positive, development-focused environment for players of varying abilities, with emphasis on safety and development both on and off the pitch.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience coaching football, ideally within a club or academy environment.
  • Experience working with young players or in youth development is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, challenge, and support players.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of football rules, techniques, and modern coaching methods.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, well-structured training sessions aligned with The W Academy’s coaching philosophy.
  • Support weekend fixtures, including match preparation, player management, and post-match feedback.
  • Focus on technical development, tactical understanding, physical development, and overall performance.
  • Monitor player progress and provide clear, constructive, and age-appropriate feedback.
  • Promote The W Academy’s values by fostering a positive, inclusive, and disciplined team culture.
  • Ensure all sessions and fixtures are conducted safely and in line with governing body standards.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and fellow coaching staff regarding expectations and development.
  • Stay up to date with modern coaching practices, sports science, and football trends.

Sessional Football Coach – Weekends (with Potential Midweek Work)

The W Academy is seeking passionate, dedicated, and skilled Sessional Football Coachesto support and inspire ourweekend teams, with opportunities foradditional midweek coachingas the academy continues to grow.

The ideal candidates will demonstrate strong game knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to creating a positive, development-focused environment. This role involves working with players of varying abilities, encouraging teamwork, building confidence, and supporting holistic development both on and off the pitch.
