Aspire People are excited to be working with a fantastic school in Wolverhampton, seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join their dedicated teaching team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented educator to deliver engaging lessons, helping students develop practical cooking skills, food safety knowledge, and an understanding of nutrition and food science.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  2. Develop engaging schemes of work covering food preparation, nutrition, food safety, and design technology.
  3. Assess students' progress through coursework, practical assessments, and written exams.
  4. Encourage students to explore creative and innovative ideas in food design and cooking.
  5. Maintain a safe and organised kitchen environment, ensuring students understand and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  6. Support students in developing their practical and theoretical skills in food technology.
  7. Provide guidance and feedback to help students achieve their full potential.
  8. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Food Technology curriculum.
  9. Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and school leadership regarding student progress and development.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  2. Strong background in Food Technology, Home Economics, or related fields.
  3. Passion for teaching and inspiring students in food and cooking.
  4. Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level is desirable.
  5. Knowledge of current food technology trends, food science, and nutrition.
  6. Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
  7. Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
