Position: Food Technology Teacher
Location: Reading, Berkshire
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join our dynamic Design & Technology department. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop their practical skills, creativity, and understanding of nutrition and food science.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and KS5 if applicable)
* Prepare and maintain practical lessons, including safe use of equipment and ingredients
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback
* Contribute to the development of the curriculum and resources
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
* Participate in departmental meetings and whole-school events
* Support extracurricular opportunities such as cooking clubs or healthy eating initiatives

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related subject
* Experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school setting
* Strong classroom management and organisational skills
* A genuine enthusiasm for food education and student development
* Up-to-date knowledge of health & safety and food hygiene regulations
