Food Technology Teacher/Instructor

Location: Barrow-in-Furness

Job Type: Part time - 2-3 hours per day to start in September

We are currently seeking a Food Technology Teacher to join a mainstream Secondary School, where you can inspire and support students in their educational journey.

The Role:

As a Food Technology Teacher/Instructor you will play a vital role in nurturing and educating Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 students within a Secondary School in Barrow-in-Furness. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging Food Technology lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Deescalating challenging behaviour and providing emotional support to students
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing regular feedback, and adapting your teaching strategies accordingly.

Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with students in a school setting.
  • Experience of planning, marking and delivering practical Food Tech lessons to others.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to deescalate challenging situations.
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to the personal and academic development of students.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
