About the Role:
- Deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including A-Level, following relevant examination specifications, and supporting students joining mid-year with practical bridging activities and individualized support.
- Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to diverse culinary interests and abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported, with a focus on quick integration and skill development.
- Utilize various teaching methods and resources, such as practical cooking, nutritional analysis, food safety demonstrations, and sustainable food projects, to enhance learning and relevance.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys, fostering understanding of culinary skills, nutrition, and food safety, especially for mid-year entrants.
- Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Food Technology exams, focusing on key concepts, assessment criteria, and exam techniques, with targeted support for new students.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge in Food Technology, including culinary skills, nutrition, and food science.
- Experience teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including A-Level.
- Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and practical skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities, including mid-year arrivals.
- Passion for food technology and commitment to fostering culinary skills, nutrition, and sustainability.
- Ability to organize practical cooking sessions and community food projects.
- Effective team player with quick mid-year integration skills.
