About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following relevant examination specifications, and adapting to the needs of students joining mid-year by providing practical bridging activities and individualized support.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to a variety of culinary interests and abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported in their practical development, despite the mid-year commencement, with a focus on quick integration and skill development.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including practical cooking sessions, nutritional analysis, food safety demonstrations, and sustainable food projects, to enhance student learning and make the subject relevant to their lives.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys, fostering a deep understanding of culinary skills, nutrition, and food safety, and helping students integrate mid-year by providing targeted assessments and feedback.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Food Technology examinations, ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria and food science methodologies, and providing targeted support for those joining mid-year by focusing on key concepts and exam techniques.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology, including culinary skills, nutrition, and food science.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including A-Level.
  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Food Technology examinations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and practical skills.
