Job Title: Food Technology Teacher
Location: Oakham Shires School, Rutland, LE15 6JB
Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
Start date: September 2025

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Food Technology Teacher to join our close-knit team at Oakham Shires School, part of Options Autism.
About The Role
You will take a creative approach to teaching students according to their educational needs, reviewing and adapting the curriculum in order to ensure a highly personalised, challenging, engaging and appropriate Food Technology curriculum is being delivered to all students in a way that maximises students' achievement and ability to develop.
To work closely with the SLT and colleagues to ensure the school is compliant with statutory regulations.
Contribute to raising standards of student progress and attainment in Food Technology. Guide students through the practical and theoretical aspects of food preparation, nutrition and kitchen safety, ensuring all students are equipped with the skills and knowledge to meet their ongoing wellbeing needs.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that will enable students to develop valuable life skills and promote healthy eating habits
Ensure the Food Technology curriculum is developed, implemented, monitored, and reviewed in order to analyse its effectiveness. Monitor, record and report on student progress.
