Overview

North West/ temporary / £140 - 220 per day

We’re seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and experienced Food Technology teacher to deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3–5, including GCSE Food Prep & Nutrition and Hospitality & Catering. You’ll work within a well-supported and well‑resourced Technology department that values high standards and promotes student success. The successful candidate will need a genuine passion for food and an ability to inspire learners through practical, meaningful experiences.

In a Teaching role, classroom presence and management are important, and a good level of communication is vital to success of this role. Planning, prepping and marking will be expected as a science teacher so is ideally something you should have experience in. Most importantly you should be completely confident in your abilities to conduct a lesson utilising your subject knowledge with the ability to adapt your lessons to the student’s ability.

Responsibilities

The successful qualified Food Tech Teacher will have:

• QTS with Food Tech specialism (ECT’s are welcome to apply)
• Plan, deliver, and assess practical and theoretical lessons in KS3–KS5 Food Preparation & Nutrition and Hospitality & Catering.
• Support students through coursework, practical assessments, and exam preparation.
• Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement.
• Contribute to the Technology department’s wider curriculum development and extracurricular initiatives (e.g. cooking clubs, food fairs).
