Job description

A therapeutic social, emotional, mental health school based in Stratford are seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to deliver engaging, practical, and academic Food Tech lessons. You'll inspire KS2 and KS3 and also guide KS4 learnings that wish to achieve food technology up to GCSE level. Creating engaging lessons to help pupils gain essential life skills, from food preparation food hygiene and healthy eating guidance.

This class is the students favourite lesson meaning they are engaged, calm and eager to get stuck in, giving you the space to teach a meaningful lesson that is impacting their time at school.

About the role:
  • Deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based Food Technology lessons to students with diverse needs.
  • Support and motivate learners who may have faced challenges in mainstream education.
  • Prepare students for GCSE assessments, tailoring lessons to individual abilities.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and confidence.
  • Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to support student progress and wellbeing.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Food Technology up to GCSE level.
  • Passionate about delivering practical, hands-on learning experiences.
  • Skilled at adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of vulnerable or disengaged learners.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Committed to helping every student achieve their potential.
  • Food hygiene & first aid certificate.
  • Experience within an SEMH/PRU Setting or Teaching Secondary students.

We are seeking to fill this role ASAP, you will be required to have an Enhanced C&A DBS that is clear if you don't have one on the Update Service you will need to process one via Parker Smith Inclusion.
