Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Food Technology Teacher to join a welcoming comprehensive secondary school in Chatham. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3-4, teaching both practical and theoretical aspects of the Food Technology curriculum.

The successful candidate will create an inclusive learning environment, support students to develop practical skills and creativity, and work collaboratively with colleagues in the Design Technology department.

Qualifications

• QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level.
• In-date health and safety certificate for food.
• Confident teaching practical lessons and managing a specialist classroom environment.
• Able to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• ECTs with relevant Food Technology teaching experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive comprehensive secondary school in Chatham.

The Role

• Planning and delivering engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Teaching both practical and theoretical aspects of the Food Technology curriculum
• Creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment
• Supporting students to develop their practical skills, creativity and confidence
• Assessing and monitoring student progress
• Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Design Technology department
• Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
• Experienced teaching Food Technology at secondary level

• Organised, reliable and enthusiastic
• Committed to supporting students of all abilities
