Food Technology Teacher (Full-Time, Temporary)

Sheldon, Birmingham

£31,650 - £43,606 per annum

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum requirement for this position is a suitable qualification to teach Food Technology i.e PGCE, with valid QTS/QTLS

The School and Role

ABC Teachers is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Food Technology Supply Teacher for a long-term position at a well-regarded secondary school in Sheldon, starting in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Design and Technology teacher with a specialism in Food Tech to join a supportive and creative department. Located in the heart of Sheldon, this inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school prides itself on its strong community ethos and commitment to practical learning. The school boasts modern facilities, including fully-equipped food technology rooms, and has a reputation for promoting hands-on, skills-based education across the curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Full-time, long-term position starting September 2025
• Delivering Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Planning and preparing engaging, practical lessons that promote healthy lifestyles and creative thinking
• Supporting pupils with practical assessments and coursework
  
  

Requirements

The successful Food Technology Teacher will have;

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Food Technology or Design and Technology
• Recent teaching experience in a UK secondary school
• Strong organisational skills and confident classroom management
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
• Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
• All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
