Are you an experienced Food Technology Teacher looking for work in Birmingham?

Winner Education are seeking a Food Technology Teacher for a Alternative Provision school in Central Birmingham. This role is due to start after in September and will be long term. You must have previous experience in delivering to KS3 and KS4 pupils.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Curriculum Lead to ensure the curriculum is up to date and meets the needs of the students
  • Be the sole lead teacher for the department and lead all exam prep and data entry
  • Adapt lessons to suit the needs of children
  • Create a stimulating learning environment
  • Support KS3 and KS4 pupils in small class sizes
  • Conduct assessments and progress reports for individual pupils
  • Ensure pupils are meeting set targets
  • Host parents evening when required
  • Produce interactive and engaging lesson plans to deliver to the leaners
  • Provide additional support and booster sessions to pupils

The successful Food Technology Teacher must:

  • Support students with the transition of the next stage of their education or training
  • Have previous experience working in a secondary school/alternative provision
  • Hold a QTS or significant experience within teaching Food Technology
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum
  • Have previous experience in teaching pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs
  • Have strong resilience and patience
  • Be a great team-player and form good relationships within the school environment
  • Good classroom and behaviour management
