Job description

Job Title: Food Specifications Technologist

Location: Hull

Salary: Up to £35,000

Reporting to: NPD Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Bridge the gap between Product concept and launch
2. Conduct factory trials
3. Complete internal specifications and customer specifications in line with project timelines

Ideal Candidate:

1. Experience within an NPD or Technical team in a food manufacturing environment
2. Knowledge of writing specifications
3. Ability to manage trial and launch phases of the NPD process
4. Multitasking skills to work on multiple projects
5. Completing customer specifications and maintaining existing specifications via relevant portals

Skills and Attributes:

1. Ability to present data clearly within reports
2. Articulate and confident to challenge when necessary
3. Proactive attitude and continuous improvement mindset

Other Duties:

1. Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth transition of products from concept to launch
2. Conduct factory trials and obtain relevant data
3. Coordinate shelf-life testing, organoleptic assessments, and nutritional evaluations
4. Create labels and stay up to date with labelling legislation to ensure compliance

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Active contributor to the site team
2. Host and attend meetings
