Job description

Food Technician

Working Hours: 27.5 hours per week [8am – 2pm Mon to Fri, hours negotiable to suit the right candidate].

Working Weeks: Term-time plus training days

Salary: NJC Scale K £24,153 - £25,603 (Full Time Equivalent) [pay award pending from April 2025]

Actual salary £15,372 - £16,295 if working 27.5 hrs per week.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, proactive, and resourceful Food Technician to support our Catering department.

The Catering Department

The Catering department at Commonweal is successful and popular at Key Stage 4. Our success is driven by our passion for the subject and engaging students with practical lessons and delicious recipes throughout Key Stage 3. Our curriculum is comprehensively planned and resourced to give students skills in catering, food preparation, and nutrition, preparing them for further study and life. We foster positive relationships with students and emphasize responsibility for their success. The department is part of the Creative Technology faculty and is known for being reflective and supportive. We look forward to welcoming a new team member who can actively contribute to our proud department.
