Elderbrook School, part of Kedleston Group, is seeking a motivated Food Tech Teacher to deliver engaging lessons and support students across KS3/KS4. The role includes occasional cover duties and collaboration with staff and parents to promote student success.

QTS is required; SEND qualification is desirable. The school values CPD and innovative teaching methods, offering a supportive environment and pension contributions for qualified teachers.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• A qualification in SEND education is desirable.
• Experience teaching Food Technology and KS3/KS4 curriculum.
• Experience with SEND/ASC is preferable; applications from mainstream settings are welcome.
• Strong classroom management and ability to inspire students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to continuing professional development and innovative teaching methods.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver engaging and creative food technology lessons across the curriculum.

What you’ll be doing as a Food Tech Teacher:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons, that engage and challenge children and young people
• Foster a positive learning environment that supports children and young people's educational and personal growth
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to ensure student success
• Participate in school activities, extracurricular programs, and professional development opportunities

This role will also involve providing cover teaching across other subject areas, where required, to support the smooth delivery of the curriculum.

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• A qualification in SEND education is desirable.
• Experience teaching or delivering Food Technology
• Experience of working with children with SEND and ASC is ideal but applications from those working in mainstream settings are very welcome
• Experience in teaching KS3 and KS4 curriculum
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate children and young people.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Opened in 2015, Elderbrook School, (formally, Arc School Old Arley) is an independent special day school situated within a rural village near Nuneaton, affording children and young people the opportunity to take part in a range of activities within the local community. Our school has a particular focus on taking learning outside the classroom into the grounds and community beyond and working in partnership with other organisations to enrich opportunities for children and young people.
