Are you a passionate Food Tech Teacher looking for a new opportunity?

If so, GSL Education are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Food Tech Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Hull. This role requires a strong knowledge of Food Technology, excellent classroom management skills, and a commitment to delivering engaging and practical lessons.

As a Food Tech Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that inspire students to develop their practical cooking skills, understand nutrition, and explore the wider food industry. You will be expected to plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Food Tech Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons for KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Teach students essential cooking techniques, food safety, and nutrition.
  • Prepare practical sessions and manage resources effectively.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintain high expectations of student behaviour and classroom discipline.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Food Technology curriculum.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed in practical lessons.

Food Tech Teacher Requirements:

  • Must hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or have UK teaching experience.
  • A strong knowledge of Food Technology and the national curriculum.
  • Experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities.
  • A passion for inspiring students to develop their skills and knowledge in Food Technology.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
