A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Newham is seeking an enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher for a full-time, long-term role starting this September. This is an excellent opportunity to join a school that values hands-on learning and encourages practical, skills-based education.

The ideal candidate will be confident delivering Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a passion for teaching nutritional knowledge, food preparation, and healthy living.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and practical Food Technology lessons aligned with the national curriculum

  • Teaching food science, nutrition, hygiene, and cooking techniques with a focus on safety and creativity

  • Preparing students for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition assessments

  • Managing kitchen resources and ensuring a safe, organised learning environment

  • Inspiring students to explore culinary arts, sustainable eating, and food culture

  • Supporting school-wide initiatives such as healthy eating campaigns, food clubs, or themed cooking events

You Will Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised qualification

  • Have experience teaching Food Technology in a UK secondary school setting

  • Are confident managing a practical classroom and adhering to food safety standards

  • Are passionate about food education, wellbeing, and empowering students with lifelong skills

  • Can differentiate effectively and motivate learners of all backgrounds and abilities

  • Are proactive, well-organised, and committed to excellence in teaching
