A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Newham is seeking an enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher for a full-time, long-term role starting this September. This is an excellent opportunity to join a school that values hands-on learning and encourages practical, skills-based education.
The ideal candidate will be confident delivering Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a passion for teaching nutritional knowledge, food preparation, and healthy living.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Planning and delivering engaging and practical Food Technology lessons aligned with the national curriculum
Teaching food science, nutrition, hygiene, and cooking techniques with a focus on safety and creativity
Preparing students for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition assessments
Managing kitchen resources and ensuring a safe, organised learning environment
Inspiring students to explore culinary arts, sustainable eating, and food culture
Supporting school-wide initiatives such as healthy eating campaigns, food clubs, or themed cooking events
You Will Be a Great Fit If You:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised qualification
Have experience teaching Food Technology in a UK secondary school setting
Are confident managing a practical classroom and adhering to food safety standards
Are passionate about food education, wellbeing, and empowering students with lifelong skills
Can differentiate effectively and motivate learners of all backgrounds and abilities
Are proactive, well-organised, and committed to excellence in teaching
