Job summary

apetito Limited in the UK Head Office, Trowbridge, is seeking a detail-focused Food Technologist to turn product and ingredient information into clear, accurate data that supports safe, high-quality meals. You will manage specifications for materials, prepare finished product specs, check artwork for compliance with UK and EU laws, and share findings with internal stakeholders to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science or related discipline (Essential).
• Experience preparing Food Specifications & labels.
• Competent with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
• Knowledge of UK and EU food labelling laws.
• Experience checking raw material specifications for accuracy and compliance.
• Numerical competency for recipe calculations.
• Ability to work with multiple data sources.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritise busy workload across specifications, ingredient queries, artwork checks, legislative updates, product changes and deadlines.
• Prepare raw material specifications and maintain accuracy for on-site materials.
• Prepare finished product specifications and assess information for compliance before sharing with stakeholders.
• Gather, interpret and approve supplier, recipe and product data for accuracy and timeliness.
• Respond to product and material queries with clear, accurate technical information.
• Check artwork and product information for accuracy and compliance.
• Keep internal systems for products, recipes and specifications up to date.
• Support development teams in technical setup of new/improved products to meet launch deadlines.
• Drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to product, systems and service innovation and stay updated with legislative changes.
