About the role

Here at Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative team leader to develop our business through excellent food service.

As our Food Service Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for the front of house at the Folk Hall Café in York. The café provides a wide variety of freshly prepared, high-quality menu items in our busy food outlet, open 6 days a week, alongside a developing events space.

In this role, you’ll assist the operational management of the catering services in the Folk Hall with vibrant café counter service and a busy conference and event space. Building strong relationships with all of our stakeholders including residents, staff, the public, and the wider JRHT community is a huge part of the role.

About you

You’ll be looking for a challenge in a role that gives you some autonomy to develop the event provision within the café as well as the ability to be creative with interesting ideas to increase footfall. Obsessive about great food and customer service, you’ll ideally possess a minimum Level 2 Food Safety qualification and demonstrate progressive success in your supervisory career.

Experience of leading and developing a team in a similar environment would be beneficial. Motivating and inspiring others will come naturally to you, and you’ll be able to show us a passion for customer service. Above all, a can-do attitude to the role. We never say no!

If you have this desire and a drive to succeed, then we would love to hear from you.

Our core priority
