Job summary

Guild Hotel Fitzrovia in London seeks a Food Service Assistant to join our Truly Talented team. You will work with the food and beverage leadership to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth service.

The role covers beverage preparation, table readiness, order execution, cleanliness, menu knowledge and helpful guest guidance. Right to work in the UK required; friendly, team-focused, and flexible.

Qualifications

• Passion for hospitality industry.
• Experience in busy restaurant or bar settings preferred but not essential.
• Strong personal presentation and communication.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages as requested by guests.
• Ensure tables are set and ready for guests at all times.
• Take and execute guest orders promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness across Food & Beverage outlets.
• Have knowledge of the food and beverage menu.
• Answer guests’ questions on menu choices.
• Communicate guest needs and dietary requirements to F&B and Kitchen teams.

We are currently looking for a Food Service Assistant to join our Truly Talented team.

Your role

You will work closely with the food and beverage leadership team in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the Hotel and the satisfaction of guests.

Responsibilities of Food Service Assistant will include but are not limited to:

• Preparing and serving any beverages requested by guests;
• Ensuring that all tables are set and ready for welcoming guests at all times;
• Ensuring that all guests’ orders are taken and executed in a timely manner;
• Ensuring that cleanliness is kept at the highest standards at all times in the Food & Beverage Outlets;
• Having good knowledge of the food and beverage menu;
• Responding to guests’ queries on the menu selection;
• Communicating any guests’ questions on the menu, the length of wait and product availability with the Food & Beverage and Kitchen teams, as well as any additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the teams accordingly.

The ideal person for this role will be enthusiastic about change, focused on details and trusting.

The core skills and experience required to succeed

• Truly passionate about the Hospitality Industry;
• Previous restaurant or bar experience in a busy environment is preferred but not essential;
• Excellent personal presentation;
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety procedures;
• Ability to function independently with a minimum of supervision;
• Excellent communication skills, the ability to communicate verbally and in writing ;
• To be an enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach.

You must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from all candidates prior to commencing employment.
