Key Responsibilities of the Food Scientist – Development / NPD will include:

  • Lead the creation of new product formulations, taking into account considerations such as ingredient cost, nutritional requirements and palatability.

  • Address technical challenges during the product development process, implementing solutions to advance R&D.
  • Undertake product testing using methods such as sensory analysis, physiochemical testing, nutritional analysis and shelf-life testing.
  • Provide support, supervision and training within the development team on New Product Development approaches and testing methods.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Marketing, Sales and Production to guarantee successful product development and launch.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and records are maintained throughout the product development cycle and during product testing and trials.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies to support product innovation.

To be considered for this Food Scientist – Development / NPD vacancy you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience within New Product Development (NPD) of food products e.g. human food, pet food or animal feed.
