Job Description:
The Role:
As part of the Food Safety & Quality team, you will gain a wide range of food safety & quality and business experience skills through continuous on-the-job development with coaching and mentoring. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with food safety & quality operations, procedures, and document control
- Maintaining and updating department files such as SOPs, Risk Assessments, HACCP documents, and quality management documents
- Assisting in carrying out scheduled audits
- Evaluating written SOPs for implementation, training, and compliance
- Supporting the management of non-conformant logs
- Logging complaints and communicating with relevant personnel
- Investigating complaints, including root cause analysis
- Sampling finished products and raw materials microbiologically and chemically as per schedule
- Conducting internal audits and assisting with external and customer audits
- Collaborating with the Food Safety and Quality team to monitor quality assurance, hygiene, and food safety activities
- Understanding the importance of Animal Welfare within the business
The ideal candidate will have or demonstrate:
- A degree in a related discipline (Food Technology, Nutrition, Science)
- An understanding of HSE requirements, operating in line with policies and procedures
- Knowledge of quality systems and compliance standards
- Strong financial understanding and business acumen
- Excellent communication skills to enhance food safety understanding across the site
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent time management skills
- Teamwork skills and a professional, enthusiastic attitude
- Attention to detail
- HACCP training is an advantage
