Job Description:

The Role:

As part of the Food Safety & Quality team, you will gain a wide range of food safety & quality and business experience skills through continuous on-the-job development with coaching and mentoring. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with food safety & quality operations, procedures, and document control
  • Maintaining and updating department files such as SOPs, Risk Assessments, HACCP documents, and quality management documents
  • Assisting in carrying out scheduled audits
  • Evaluating written SOPs for implementation, training, and compliance
  • Supporting the management of non-conformant logs
  • Logging complaints and communicating with relevant personnel
  • Investigating complaints, including root cause analysis
  • Sampling finished products and raw materials microbiologically and chemically as per schedule
  • Conducting internal audits and assisting with external and customer audits
  • Collaborating with the Food Safety and Quality team to monitor quality assurance, hygiene, and food safety activities
  • Understanding the importance of Animal Welfare within the business

The ideal candidate will have or demonstrate:

  • A degree in a related discipline (Food Technology, Nutrition, Science)
  • An understanding of HSE requirements, operating in line with policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of quality systems and compliance standards
  • Strong financial understanding and business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills to enhance food safety understanding across the site
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Teamwork skills and a professional, enthusiastic attitude
  • Attention to detail
  • HACCP training is an advantage
  • Right to work in the UK
