North Yorkshire County Council is seeking a suitably qualified Food Safety Officer to support the Farming, Food and Health Regulatory Services team in the Western part of the county, covering Skipton and surrounding areas. The role focuses on ensuring food safety, investigating outbreaks, and enforcing health and safety standards.

Candidates will hold the Higher Certificate in Food Control or Advanced Professional Certificate in Food Hygiene and Standards Control and have completed the CIEH

Qualifications

• Experience in Environmental Health and handling complaints (informal/formal).
• Ability to interpret and apply current environmental health legislation.

Responsabilités

• Ensure food sold in the county meets hygiene and safety standards.
• Investigate cases/outbreaks of food poisoning and foodborne disease.
• Investigate health and safety at work incidents per NYC policy.
• Inspect and register cosmetic premises and practitioners to protect public health.
