Camden Council is seeking fully qualified Food Safety Officers to join their dynamic team. The role involves delivering food safety functions, enforcing legislation, and supporting food businesses, offering a competitive salary and flexible working options. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in environmental health and relevant experience.
Starting Salary: £44,579 - £50,706 (pay award pending) plus a retention package/market supplement for fully qualified officers, including a 7% salary enhancement, monthly travel card allowance, and a £2000 new employee welcome payment, depending on qualifications.

We’re growing our team and recruiting additional EHO/Food Safety Officers to join London’s largest and busiest food safety team.
We’re seeking fully qualified and authorized food safety professionals to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities include delivering food safety and infectious disease functions, enforcing relevant legislation, investigating complaints and foodborne illnesses, and supporting food businesses to improve. You will develop and deliver projects, policies, and research within your expertise, with a significant degree of autonomy, report writing, and preventative work. The role is based in a team-focused service where flexible working and shared decision-making are encouraged.

You should have excellent legislative knowledge, experience in handling complex cases, and the ability to work collaboratively with partners. Graduates in environmental health in training are also encouraged to apply, with a training position offered until fully authorized.
