Job summary

A local authority client in the Liverpool City Region seeks an experienced EH Food Officer for a long-term contract. The successful candidate will carry out inspections for newly registered and unrated food businesses, as well as category C and D rated businesses. Essential qualifications include CIEH accreditation and CPD hours. This role can be offered on a full or part-time basis, with rates starting at £45 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must hold credentials/qualifications as listed by the CIEH.
• At least 20 hours of CPDs covering 2 years.
• Completion of the Competency Matrix required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Unrated/Newly registered food businesses.
• Inspect category C and D rated food businesses.

Job description

Our local authority client, based in the North West of England have an excellent opportunity for those looking for a long term contract. Our client are currently looking to recruit an experienced EH Food Officer to carry out inspections for Unrated/Newly registered food businesses. You will also be expected to inspect category C and D rated food businesses and follow up re-visits/re-ratings/ closures, enforcement action and some food complaints.

In order to be considered it is essential you hold the credentials/qualifications as listed by the CIEH. You must hold at least 20 hours of CPDs covering 2 years and have completed the Competency Matrix. Our client also has a number of Cat A and B premises to inspect, these will be offered to those who have previous experience inspecting them.

As mentioned, this is a long term contract. It is currently running until the end of July 2026 but a review will be held at the end of March 2026. Our client is happy to consider both Full and Part time officers. Rates will start at £45 per hour Umbrella.
