Dishoom in Oxford is seeking a Food Runner/Expeditor to support our busy kitchen and front-of-house teams on a fast-paced all-day dining floor. You will deliver large trays, manage orders with care, and help ensure every guest experience is smooth and memorable.

Food Runner/ Food Expeditor

What to expect:

• Free team meals every shift, plus all the Chai you can drink!
• £15- £15.80 per hour inclusive of tronc (based on the last 3-month’s average). We pay on a monthly basis.
• A full-time role working across 5 days, Monday - Sunday availability required.
• A weekly changing rota provided at least 6 days in advance.
• We're an all day dining Cafe, meaning our teams work a variety of daytime and evening shifts (not the usual always late nights!)
• Access to our award-winning training programmes and support. We focus on your development from day one and proudly promoted 326 Dishoomwalles last year!
• The usual number of days holiday a year - paid for at your usual rate. Our sites are closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and if you have children, we’ll provide one extra day to take them to their first day at school.
• No uniforms here - smart casual and comfortable is key, and of course trainers are fine.

Our Food Runners/ Expeditors:

• Deliver huge trays of food and drink to all of our guests, dealing with any special requests (e.g. allergies), and alway make sure we have everything we need for a smooth shift!
• Work in a very big and busy environment. In Dishoom you can easily total an average step count of just over 20,000 steps per shift.
• The bridge between the kitchen and the floor team, helping to keep service running seamlessly and lead the team through those high-energy, fast-paced shifts.
• Ensure our guests have an unforgettable experience—keeping Okra fries, black Daal and Cheese naan flying out at the perfect time.

So what are we looking for?

• If you haven’t worked in hospitality before, no problem, we’ll provide the right training and support to set you up for success.
• Someone who thrives under pressure (think: a busy Saturday night service), stays calm and focused, and can lead a team with warmth and confidence.
• You’ll be the vital link between the kitchen and the floor, making sure every dish is perfect before it reaches our guests.
• Previous work experience in a role - minimum 6 months is preferred - any industry.
• A willingness to learn about food, drink and looking after people (guest and team alike).
