Job summary

Omega Resource Group is recruiting a Food Quality Analyst for their established R&D laboratory near Leicester. The role covers analytical testing across routine quality control, product innovation, and manufacturing activities.

You will perform routine oil, salt, and moisture analyses, operate titration equipment, and maintain accurate lab records. Experience in a food lab and knowledge of LIMS are beneficial for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food laboratory, quality control, or testing environment.
• Hands‑on experience using titration methods would be advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail with accuracy and consistency.
• Solid understanding of laboratory safety and quality procedures.
• Familiarity with routine testing methods and structured processes.
• Experience using LIMS software.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine analytical testing including oil, salt, and moisture analysis.
• Operate and maintain titrators and other laboratory testing equipment.
• Prepare samples and conduct testing in line with standard laboratory procedures.
• Perform calibration, routine checks, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
• Record, interpret, and report test results within laboratory systems.
• Support quality testing for product innovation, shelf-life studies, and manufacturing requirements.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Investigate issues relating to test results, equipment, or analytical methods.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient laboratory environment.

Main Duties - Food Quality Analyst

• Carry out routine analytical testing including oil, salt, and moisture analysis
• Operate and maintain titrators and other laboratory testing equipment
• Prepare samples and conduct testing in line with standard laboratory procedures
• Perform calibration, routine checks, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
• Accurately record, interpret, and report test results within laboratory systems
• Support quality testing for product innovation, shelf-life studies, and manufacturing requirements
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Investigate and elevate any issues relating to test results, equipment, or analytical methods

• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency

• Relevant scientific qualification would be beneficial but not essential
