Job Title: Food Production Operative

Location:Merthyr Tydfil
Salary: £12.21 - £14.00
Hours:

  • 6am to 2pm, Monday to Friday
  • 2pm to 10pm, Monday to Friday
  • 10pm – 6am Sunday to Thursday

About the Role:

We are currently recruiting a Production Operative to join our client’s busy meat processing facility in Merthyr Tydfil This is a hands-on role within an abattoir environment, supporting the slaughter and processing of livestock in accordance with strict hygiene, food safety, and animal welfare standards.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is hardworking, reliable, and comfortable working in a physically demanding environment. Full training is provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the humane handling and processing of livestock
  • Operate production equipment and tools safely and efficiently
  • Follow all hygiene, health & safety.
  • Carry out basic quality control checks
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area
  • Work collaboratively to meet daily production targets

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a production, abattoir, or food processing environment is desirable (but not essential – full training provided)
  • Good level of physical fitness and ability to work in a cold environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Comfortable working with live animals and raw meat products
