Job summary

Acorn by Synergy is recruiting Factory Operatives in Plymouth to join a growing food production team. This permanent, full-time role offers progression opportunities, a 6am–3pm shift, and a 40-hour week in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates will have prior food production experience, a strong work ethic, reliable attendance, and good English and numeracy skills. The role involves manual handling and working in cold or hot production areas.

• Carry out regular manual handling tasks, lifting up to 15kg at a time.
• Work efficiently to meet production targets.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and product quality.
• Work collaboratively with the production team to support daily operations.
• Physically demanding role; comfortable in very cold or hot areas, standing for long periods.

• This is a physically demanding Factory Operative role. You must be comfortable working in very cold food production areas, with some areas extremely hot, standing for extended periods and carrying out manual handling tasks.

Requirements

Essential:

• Previous food factory, production or food manufacturing experience.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Good attendance and timekeeping.
• Ability to work quickly while maintaining high standards.
• Good attention to detail.
• Flexible approach to work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical fitness and manual handling capability, including lifting up to 15kg.
• Good English and numeracy skills.

Desirable:

• Experience working in chilled or freezer environments.
• Experience working to food safety and hygiene standards.
