Job Introduction

This job puts good food on the table.

As a Food Production Assistant at Sodexo in Chesterfield Hospital, you’ll play an important part in preparing and serving nutritious, comforting meals that support patient recovery and wellbeing. You’ll also help maintain a clean, safe environment in the kitchen and dining areas.With a cheerful attitude and great customer service, your presence can make a real difference in someone’s day. What you’ll do:

  • Follow approved cooking and preparation methods per specifications to ensure quality
  • Complete all production documentation, including temperature records, for hygiene and safety compliance
  • Assist with monitoring production and wastage as per daily modis sheet
  • Deliver ward order requests as instructed
  • Complete service documentation: temperature logs, cleaning schedules, ward delivery records
  • Accurately collate food service paperwork and numbers
  • Clean equipment via mechanical dishwashing or hand washing as instructed
  • Maintain thecleanliness of thekitchen and related areas, including equipment, following safety protocols
  • Complete cleaning schedules for the catering department
  • Report mechanical faults and repair needs to thesupervisor
  • Complete required training, including Food Safety and Health & Safety passports
  • Undertake operational training and obtain sign off
  • Follow food safety legislation and working guidelines at all times
  • Perform other reasonable tasks as directed by management

What you bring:

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and staff
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to achieve performance criteria, with particular regard to hygiene
  • Able to use own initiative
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Previous experience in a catering environment
