Overview

Do you have a passion for food, nutrition and inspiring healthy lifestyles? A welcoming secondary school near Ipswich is seeking an enthusiastic Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher to join their Design & Technology faculty and motivate students to develop essential culinary skills. Beginning ASAP.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver creative and engaging lessons that meet the national curriculum.
• Organise and oversee practical cooking sessions, ensuring high standards of health, hygiene and safety.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records.
• Maintain and manage the food technology kitchen, ordering and managing ingredients and equipment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work and contribute to wider school initiatives.
• Arrange and support extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs, food competitions or themed events.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions and school functions as required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge in Food Preparation, Nutrition, and related sciences.
• Ability to inspire students of all abilities to develop practical cookery skills and an understanding of healthy eating.
• Excellent classroom management, organisational and communication skills as a Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher.
