Smart Teachers is recruiting for a committed and detail-oriented Food and Design Technology Technician to join a well-regarded secondary school in North London.

This is a full-time, term-time only role, ideal for someone with a practical skillset and a strong interest in supporting creative subjects in education.

The Role

The successful candidate will support teaching staff in preparing materials and maintaining equipment for practical lessons in Food and DT. This role plays a vital part in enabling high-quality, hands-on learning and ensuring a safe, engaging environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, tools, and ingredients for practical lessons
• Support students and staff during food and DT sessions
• Maintain and monitor equipment, ensuring safety and cleanliness
• Manage stock and order supplies as required
• Adhere to health, safety, and food hygiene standards
• Provide technical support across the DT department where needed
  
  

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in a technician or similar support role (desirable)
• Working knowledge of food hygiene and DT safety standards
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• A flexible, proactive approach and ability to adapt quickly
• A strong interest in supporting secondary-aged students in practical learning
