Job summary

Portfolio Procurement is assisting a leading London-based client to recruit for a Food Category Manager. You will manage and develop a range of categories to improve price, performance, and availability for customers.

Key responsibilities include negotiating pricing/promotions, analyzing trends, reviewing suppliers, and ensuring product availability. Strong communication and Excel skills are essential, with prior experience as a buyer in food.

• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in product planning and pricing.

The role

You will be charged with the management and development of a specific range of categories to improve price, performance, and availability of your assigned categories.

Key Responsibilities

• To assist in product planning,
• Negotiating of pricing and promotional activities.
• Participate in supplier and category reviews, contributing insights on trends, seasonal demand, and product performance.
• Build relationships with your suppliers, to ensure the best product offering for customers,
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure that all KPI's are being adhered to
• Monitor stock levels to ensure product availability

• Previous experience as a Buyer from a food business
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes especially Excel
