Job summary

Silver Stone Search & Selection in the UK food sector is seeking a driven Category Manager to join an established, progressively growing food group. You will develop and implement category strategies across all channels, with a particular focus on major retail accounts.

You will work directly with customers, support the commercial manager to boost profitability, and drive growth by analysing market research and internal data to identify opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience at executive or Category Manager level within a food environment.
• Own label knowledge is beneficial.
• Strong commercial awareness with a proactive track record.

Job description

An opportunity to join an established and continuously growing food group working across highly innovative product areas. Committed to their continued growth they now seek to recruit a driven Category Manager to work on a portfolio of major accounts.

Reporting to the Head of Category;

• You will take responsibility for developing and implementing category strategies and tactics across all channels and specifically key retail accounts
• You will have day to day exposure to the customers, and you will be tasked with supporting the commercial manager to help increase profitability through a very proactive approach.
• You will be responsible for driving growth through category management taking responsibility for ensuring that all internal & external market research information is analysed in detail at every level in order to identify opportunities

Your experience;

• You will have gained experience either at an executive or Category manager level within a food environment. Own label knowledge would be highly beneficial although not essential
• You will be able to demonstrate a strong commercial awareness combined with a proactive track record.
• With a minimum if a couple of years experience you will be enthused by the autonomy within this role combined with the level of customer contact and strategic influence you will have.
